Do Channels Timeout?

Does the BayeuxConnection class manage the destruction of channels that have not been published to in a specified time period? If the BayeuxConnection class does not destroy channels, then what actions must the code using the BayeuxConnection class perform to destroy channels? If the BayeuxConnection class does destroy channels, then what is the default timeout and is that timeout configurable?

I think that you misinterpreted the "channel". There is nothing like "timeout" associated with them according to the standard.

In the general sense, channels are just names for the services you look for on the server. If you like to have timeouts, then it's your responsibility to provide such a functionality on server and client side (i.e. error responses when someone tried to access service that already expired and proper "retry" mechanism on the client side).
